Laser Etch - BirdShield
PRESS GLASS BirdShield offers a laser-etched bird-friendly glass solution designed to enhance architectural aesthetics while providing effective bird collision deterrence. The BirdShield glass features laser-printed patterns on surface #1, ensuring high visibility for birds. It combines bird protection with high thermal insulation and solar energy efficiency due to integrated low-e coatings. The glass is available in various patterns and light gray shades, supporting a threat factor (TF) rating that aligns with American Bird Conservancy (ABC) standards for bird safety, making it an ideal choice for environmentally conscious architectural projects.
Guardian Bird 1st™ UV
This bird-friendly glass option uses a UV coating on surface 1, with low-E coating on surface 4 in a laminated IGU. The UV stripes, arranged in a vertical pattern, are minimally visible to people but deter birds effectively, especially under specific environmental conditions. It comes in six low-E coating options and is available in clear and low-iron substrates, providing clear views while reducing bird collisions.
Guardian Bird 1st Etch
This glass type offers four translucent patterns applied on surface 1, combined with low-E coating on surface 2, for aesthetic flexibility and bird safety. It is available in multiple sizes and thicknesses, allowing for larger installations. Patterns such as Etch DX22 and Etch DV24 provide variety and contribute to a bird-safe environment by disrupting reflections that can confuse birds.
Bird-Friendly Fritted Glass
Featuring visual deterrents on surface 2 with low-E coating on surface 3, this glass is highly visible to both birds and humans. The patterns, including dot designs in various densities and colors, offer effective bird protection with options for different sizes and substrates. This fritted glass is particularly useful for buildings where enhanced visibility and bird protection are crucial.
AviProtek® E
The AviProtek® E low-e coated bird-friendly glass from Walker Glass combines acid-etched patterns on the first surface with Vitro Architectural Glass's high-performance low-e coatings on the second surface. This combination enhances bird safety by making the glass visible to birds, while also offering energy efficiency benefits. Available in various design options, including vertical and organic patterns, as well as dot and square patterns, AviProtek® E supports LEED credit attainment, helping architects and building owners meet environmental and aesthetic goals for sustainable building projects.
